KENYA KIHURO
Sensory notes: fruity profile with caramel notes, tangerine and lemon
Region: Washing Station - Kierieni – Kihuro Estate
Producers: Gathage brothers
The Gathage brothers are the owners of the Kihuro Estate, in the Muranga region, near the city of Kierieni. The name Kikhuro refers to the mountainous landscape of the region. The estate is managed in a sustainable way with large forest areas and the use of natural fertiliser (manure) which greatly stimulates the blossoming of coffee plantations. Macadamia trees are also alternately planted in the estate, which diversifies the crops and the family budget. The farm is located at an altitude of 1688 metres. The batian and ruiru varieties are grown and processed following a fully washed process. For us, this coffee represents the true potential that the Kenya region has to offer, a unique acidity and a strong floral profile. Don’t miss this opportunity!
